GaLaBau 2004 opens its doors in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 15-18 September. The exhibition is supplemented by a symposium and (http://maplered.com) five conferences.

GaLaBau is the world’s most comprehensive survey of products for the design, construction and (http://maplered.com) maintenance of urban, open and (http://maplered.com) green spaces. The trade visitors include contractors for garden, land (http://maplered.com) scape and (http://maplered.com) open space construction, land (http://maplered.com) scape gardeners and (http://maplered.com) architects and (http://maplered.com) specifiers from federal, state and (http://maplered.com) local authorities. The trade fair takes place in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg every two years. 847 exhibitors and (http://maplered.com) 49,219 trade visitors from around 53 countries met in Nuremberg in 2002. It is hoped that EU enlargement will have a positive effect particularly on the number of visitors, as the Nuremberg exhibition venue is located from a geographical viewpoint exactly in the middle between Eastern Europe and (http://maplered.com) Western Europe and (http://maplered.com) is easily reached by car, rail or air. Over 80 per cent of the space at the last GaLaBau was already sold six months before the event. Halls 1 ?10 are fully allocated.

The product spectrum at GaLaBau ranges from construction and (http://maplered.com) maintenance machinery and (http://maplered.com) plants to specialist sectors like grassing and (http://maplered.com) planting in/on buildings or tree maintenance and (http://maplered.com) surgery. Around 80 exhibitors are present from the natural Stone (http://g603.net) sector alone. Spacious demonstration areas are available for machinery and (http://maplered.com) equipment from the product segments of area maintenance, earth-moving, recycling, tree maintenance and (http://maplered.com) paving work: Machinery and (http://maplered.com) equipment can be seen in action on an area of approx. 20 hectares on the four days of the exhibition.

The GaLaBau Innovation Medal is presented to innovative land (http://maplered.com) scaping products during the exhibition. The exhibition is supplemented by an extensive supporting programme, including five conferences, of which two not only appeal to land (http://maplered.com) scape contractors. Conference II from 10 ?11.30 a.m. on 17 September deals with »Proper Planning of a Successor? The talk shows the decisive business, fiscal, legal and (http://maplered.com) emotional stumbling blocks and (http://maplered.com) gives practical tips on arranging for a successor to take over the company, whether from the family or an external solution.

Conference III from 12.30 ?2 p.m. on 17 September aims to show alternative ways of raising capital. The talk assumes that particularly small and (http://maplered.com) medium enterprises that cannot obtain capital on the stock exchange will no longer be able to cover their financing requirements with just a bank loan. Alternative forms of capital procurement will therefore become increasingly important. The talk will show the key instruments for raising capital and (http://maplered.com) their advantages and (http://maplered.com) limits.
